I used to listen to podcasts on Apple TV regularly; I'd have them play while doing other tasks around the house, but with recent updates the app has gotten worse and worse.
For example, while all podcasts I've subscribed to via my iPhone are displayed under "Shows" on the Apple TV podcasts app, this app seems to be incapable of syncing properly with the iOS app. It lists "4 unplayed episodes" for one show, even though on my iPhone it shows that this podcast has (correctly) 0 unplayed episodes. Furthermore, when I click on a show I simply see a list of all episodes starting with the most recent with no indication of which ones are unplayed or not. I click on "Latest Episodes" and it shows 4 episodes from three different shows, but doesn't include one episode of one podcast I know to be new and unplayed.
Is anyone else having the same problems? Because of these factors, I really haven't used the Apple TV app for listening to podcasts in the past several months. I now just connect my iPhone to my Bluetooth soundbar and listen that way instead.
