I find it so irritating when I’ve washed my hands for example and after drying I can feel the wet still under the watch and I have to take it off for a bit. Fabric straps soaking up water too drives me nuts. At least the sports straps dry easily with a towel though.

Just wondering if anyone else gets this? Maybe with any watch tbf. I’m not moaning mind, just making conversation. I have a condition which makes me sensitive to everything pls don’t come for me

Interesting question. I too don't like wearing a wet watch, but come to think of it, there's no good reason. Except perhaps in a dusty environment, when it could attract more dirt by being wet.
OTOH, when I go diving I wear a dive watch (dive computer). But that somehow seems different, which isn't logical.

I don't care for the fabric bands for this exact reason. I wear the sport band, Nike sport band and the milanese loop. I'm running at least every other day, so I'm often sweaty. I think a fabric or leather band would become soggy, sticky and smelly quite fast.

Many years ago, I remember reading in the instructions for a G-Shock that Casio recommended against wearing a G-Shock with the resin band wet, as that could cause it to crack. I dutifully would always dry off my watch after it got wet.

Years later with an Apple watch with sports band, I'm pretty sure water won't make it prematurely crack. However, through force of habit, I still take it off and dry off the band when it gets wet. I have also read of people having allergic reactions, because some liquid or particulate matter was under the band.

Interesting as I am so sensitive, and just earlier I had to take mine off after washing my hands because I was starting to react to it. Dried it and put it on after the skin calmed down and it was fine.

I shower with my watch on every day for the past almost 3 years, I like to wash the band in particular after working out as sweat runs under it. I’ve worn loops for a few weeks and did not care for them as they get really wet and take some time to dry, for the last at least 2 years I’ve only worn Nike sport bands, the breathe a little better due to the holes and are more comfortable because of that in particular in the summer.
I wear them fairly loose in the shower so when I dry off I can stick a towel in between and be done…

I’m intending to buy an S7, as my first AW.

I have clinical OCD, thus wash my hands a lot.

This “issue” has also occurred to me.

Could you not do what I do with my Tiffany bangle, and slide it up the wrist, out of the way of water, whilst washing your hands? Can you wear the AW with that much give (loose)?

If you can’t wear the AW that loose, then maybe you can loosen the band when you wash your hands, then slide it up your wrist, out of the way of water? Then simply slide it back down afterwards, and tighten it back up?
