Hi all,

I have owned my AirPods for less than a month and treat them like glass.
However I have noted that the left AirPod has a significant join of the two plastic moulds that make up the earpiece. The other AirPod has a smoother join.

I took it to one of those Apple reseller stores and they produced another few sets of AirPods with the same issue but were unaware of any faults being reported. As they were a “Diet Coke” Apple store, they could not replace the AirPod.

So what advice can you offer? Return to an official Apple store for a replacement or live with it?

I’m not usually this fussy about items but for the premium price Apple charge, I expect perfection!

Absolutely return it. There have been other threads where the Airpod has not been assembled properly and yours is a clear case of poor assembly with that gap. It should not look like that at all.

Mine were that way. Took three pairs to get a good pair, but they are out there.
