Hi Everyone

Does anyone have a Yale Conexis L1 Smart Lock?
https://www.yale.co.uk/en/yale/couk.../smart-door-locks/conexis-l1-smart-door-lock/

Is it compatible with HomeKit?
Can it be paired with more than 1 phone to unlock the door?
Is the silly movement/flick/turn required to unlock with a phone?
Any Apple Watch support?
Ideally I'd like it to unlock the door when me/my wife drive on the drive.

I have contacted Yale directly but not heard anything yet and thought I'd ask here too.

Any other/better UK alternatives?

Thank you in advance for reading.

It is not compatible off the shelf, there are some workarounds that would allow it to work, but it depends how tech savvy you are really.

I've had a Yale Conexis L1 for a couple of months and it's great. In answer to your questions...

Is it compatible with HomeKit?
Not currently. The lock has a compartment where you can install small modules. There are currently modules for z-wave and a remote fob. Yale are apparently working on a HomeKit module...

Can it be paired with more than 1 phone to unlock the door?
Haven't tried this.

You do need to 'twist' to unlock with the phone. I've used this once though... The fobs / card / tags are so easy to use you'll end up using these instead

Any Apple Watch support? Ideally I'd like it to unlock the door when me/my wife drive on the drive.
I doubt Yale has a Watch app - the future HomeKit module would be your best bet.

Hope this helps!

I have an L1 with the Z-Wave module, love it. No HomeKit support and the Yale app is rubbish. You can share the key with other family members so they can use their phone but its garbage, just use the RFID tags instead. Once you have it set up as Dunners said you will just use the RFID tags to unlock the door. I also connected mine via Z-Wave to my Samsung Smart things which then allowed me to do an IFTTT when I arrive home to unlock the front door, as long as I make it out of the car and to the door in 30 seconds then its all good. Failing that it then automatically locks again and I have to use my tag (stuck to the back of my phone) to get in.

Kind Regards

With regard to alternatives in the UK, I would wholeheartedly recommend the Schlage Sense.
1.It is HomeKit compatible
2. Multiple users on multiple phones with different codes is possible
3. No silly movements, just the photo of a locked or unlocked padlock on the app, requiring only a touch to change.
4. I haven't used them (have 2) with the watch, other than noting that it does work and I am notified any time either door is unlocked or locked.
5. The lock can be triggered from anywhere through Siri, HomeKit app, or Schlage app.

I have heard stories of other locks being slow to respond, but to date, have had only instant responses with no failures to deploy, e.g., never have needed the key.

But that's no good for the type of door most people have on their properties here. Most have a UPVC / Composite Door with multipoint locking mechanism so you need a lock that will work with that. The Connexis L1 is the only lock I've seen that is able to do this, it also doesn't require any extra holes other than those that already exist for the lock you are replacing.

Agreed. The Connexis L1 seems to be the only multipoint locking mechanism device available in the UK and unfortunately HomeKit is still not available for it and their iOS app is absolute garbage. I would not trust these devs with the security of my home. I don't think I've ever seen such a poorly reviewed app on the App Store.
They also seem to release updates every 6 months if you're lucky. They likely have never heard of Agile.

I've got the Yale keyfree connected lock which also has interchangeable modules and do hope that that a homekit one will come out one day.
