Good, bad, or indifferent. Is it risky ? Can I get apple care ? The savings would be a big help. I could not find any threads on this subject, any help would be much appreciated.
Thank You :)

Apple refurb products are completely eligible for apple care. They also come with the standard year warranty.

Now, it is my opinion that a refurb has been looked over better than anything off the line. The QC on a refurb comes as a result of a "problem" that someone reported. The problem could have been dust under the screen or something truly wrong. Either way, I believe with a refurb your chances of getting a great machine are very high. Additionally, if the purchased spec'd machine online is not actually available Apple will bump you to the next best thing they have.
