I have one at work and use it to record from my camera directly to DVD. I think it's the duck's nuts.
 
The DVDirect recorders are not compatible with Apple® Macintosh® computers.

Presently, these DVDirect models are certified for use on computers running the Windows® 2000 Professional and Windows XP operating systems. Microsoft has confirmed that the VRD-VC20 is compatible with the Windows 7 operating system.

NOTE: Compatibility with other operating systems has not been confirmed at this time.
