..hide the name of the volume on your desktop? Like, you name your computer "Space" (if you right click > name and extension), but is there a way to not have that name show up next to the icon on the desktop? Any program that someone knows of or anything?

The only workaround I know of is to not give it a name, but then in your actual finder window, obviously, you don't have a name there either, which bothers me as well.

you could always go into Finder preferences and, under "Show these items on the Desktop," un-click the box next to "Hard Disks"

of course, that would hide the volume as well as the name...

You are an amazing person. I've been wondering how to do that since 2003, but didn't deem it annoying enough to post and ask.
