Apple really should have made the adapter cord full length. This is ugly, clunky and feels weak. If the cord was full length I could just hide all of the connectors in the console but its only a few inches long.

My solution was to get a 30pin to Bluetooth adapter and just use a lighter plug adapter to charge the phone.

Advantage is that you can use the phone to stream music without it being wired, which is nice if you want to hand it to somebody else in the car to handle the tunes. Also, anybody else in the car can use it to stream as well.

This is what I do as well.

Why do you have that adapter in-between the apple cord and the car adapter cord?

My car I guess was one of the first to have iPod integrated from the factory and it only charges with firewire pins instead of USB pins in the dock connecter so I have to have the charge converter in the middle to charge the phone.

What kind or brand of bluetooth thing are you guys using with the dock connecter? I tried one and it didnt work. The stereo wouldn't recognize it. :(
