Hi,

Does anyone know when I can go to my local Apple store to pick up and play with a new iPad 2? I need to see it first before committing

I sold my iPad 2 last year. I don't think Apple sells them any more.

Totally agree. I've got an Air that I'm very happy with but would buy a 2 if it feels worth it. I called my local store this morning and they appeared to have no clue when they might get a demo unit. Very strange.
Cannot bring myself to order blind from the online store. Will just wait and see, but will probably lose interest very soon.

I think the answer is no one knows. I know the manager of an Apple Store. After the iPhone 5c shipped they had a big display of color things that looked pretty heavy hanging in their window. I asked him about it and he said Apple just ships them stuff, they have no idea what is coming,

I'm sure he would say the same about the iPad Air 2. My guess is next Wednesday the 22nd based on the estimated ship dates.

Apple didn't seem to mention an actual launch date

24th. Confirmations from Best Buy are saying you can pick up pre-orders on the site in store on the 24th. It falls in line with the other Apple pre-orders that go live one week in advance.

But to the OP: Do any products get display units until the launch day? I don't recall them doing them in advance before. I might be wrong, though.
