Hi,

If anyone knows where to find a retail version of MAC OS X 10.5 for my old eMac. I would appreciate a contact.

My eMac is virtually unuseable on the web anymore using 10.3.9.

Many thanks.

Best places to look is your local c r a I g s l i st , or any online retailer or ebay. I suggest CL. CL is best place as it is mostly text based.

The drawback though is that the retail version of Leopard is very expensive, it seems to run $80-150 on eBay because it's in high demand among PPC users. You want the version with the black background, which is the retail version that will work on any Mac.

Several people have said they were able to call apple and order it from them.

You could try that if you're not comfortable with CL or eBay.

This is entirely true. I called the Apple Store via the 800 number and you have to request it. There still is plenty of NOS (new old stock) around. Revived my old PowerBook G4.

It's still rather expensive but a one time purchase that sure is better than pirating it. Especially considering it's a dual layer DVD.
