ok ive always wondered this : does anyone know why? i have the black iphone 4 and the white ipod touch 4g but its not on my black iphone or on the box or apple.com.

does anyone know why the white iphone has an additional dust cover on the front?

If you mean the black slot on top of the ear speaker? IF that is what you are talking about, that is the proximity sensor and ambient light sensor. Even black model has them. You just can see them unless you put your black iphone 4 directly into a bright light then you will see it. I have a black iphone 4 and it is there. I can see it.
