I believe I am always a careful person, slow and patient, enough time always, and by the way I am not mobile device addict. On public transport or walking, 99% of time I don't use the phone unless I want to know the time, and then put it back to my pockets. However, I still drop my phone at least once or two in the recent years.

Does anyone never drop their phone, not for even once?

I've only dropped a phone twice, the last time being a flip phone and it was my first one with a very low resolution colour screen so some time ago.

Recall dropping my iPhone 5 once, as I exited my car. It slid across the gravel, but no damage.

That's it. I'm very careful with my most expensive/used device (for work/play) & grip it securely.

I do use my phone all the time and drop it rarely. Most of the few drops have been from a pocket or falling out of my purse. I use a minimal case and try to keep a tight hold on it when in use. I’m so envious of the people out there that use their phones without a case. I just can’t do it.

Only had one or two bigger drops over the years. Typically a 2-3 foot drop of that and it’s rare. Basic cases seem to do the trick

My Max slipped off the night stand twice last week. My 7 Plus slipped out of my hand once and flew across the bathroom and my iPhone 6 fell screen down after I missed my pocket and everyone around me was like OMG but also nothing happened. So far I have been lucky

My 7+ was probably dropped over 100 times lol...screen only cracked once. One time I accidentally threw it at a tile floor so hard it caused smoke from where the corner hit the floor. Day 2 with my XS Max and no drops yet!

I’m usually really careful the first week or so I have it cause there’s no scratches. Then my screen is so scratched up I don’t care any more. In my line of work my phone gets abused and scratched up.

I’ve dropped mine a few times with no problems (so far). I have it in a Silk Vault case with a few cards, and it’s pretty sturdy.

I think I dropped my iPhone SE one single time a couple years ago… I think I was drunk too

Other than that it’s never happened

It's been a while since I dropped the phone last time...

But I am afraid of dropping my XS Max...I just do not have big enough hands to hold it comfortably. I am so insecure with it when I have to use it one handed. Two handed is OK.

I'm with you on the XS Max - it fits my jeans pocket but only just so I have to be very careful taking it out lest I drop it. And it's definitely a 2 handed device for me having small hands.

Used to go caseless, however after a drop and a a bad broken screen taught me lesson during iphone 6+. Still have dropped iphone X while did not yet receive the case, no scuffs or scratches from it.

I feel without a minor grip on the iphone, it tends to get too slippery and falls easily when unmindful. So it rarely falls while in a case.

I believe the XS series are more hardy, still its better to put in a minimal case to get the grip at least

I don’t view myself as clumsy, but I have bad luck with this kind of stuff. For example, I was at lunch with a colleague and as he grabbed his French fries smothered with ketchup and mayonnaise with his fork a few of them somehow were flung across the table and hit me on the chest perfectly on the lapel of my brand new suit, then rolled down and made a stop on my tie before landing on my lap. This is the kind of stuff that seems to randomly happen to me and I’ve dropped my phone in a few bizarre situations before. Hence I always have a case even though I don’t like cases.

No one is perfect.

That said, there is an art to dropping your phone, or rather a knack. The knack lies in learning how to throw your phone at the ground and miss.

Previous phones have had Lifeproof or OtterBox cases and I never dropped the phones. This time with my iPhone XsMax I decided to go 'cute'. Dropped my phone within one month. Screen protector survived but the screen was cracked. Fortunately I had Apple Care. Screen fixed. Lo and behold the phone fell out of my pocked yesterday. Screen protector is cracked. I think the screen survived this time. I am now considering OtterBox or Lifeproof again.

Damn things are too slippery without a case.
Even Tim Cook has been filmed with his X falling out of his pocket when he sat down. As far as I could see on the video he had no case.
