You gotta calm down with your punctuation usage. And no, I do not think they will make one. The closest you are going to get is apps running on Apple TV.

they might be good at marketing old tech as something new but that wont work on gamers. plus apple wouldnt enjoy being spanked that hard by nintendo. they like being spanked but not that hard and it would be a hard spanking given.

Does anyone think that Apple will make a games console?

They already have one... they just haven't told you about it yet. It's the AppleTV + Airplay + iPhone/iPod/iPad. the iPhone/iPod/iPad will serve as the remote control, the AppleTV will serve as the racetrack, gameboard, screen.

I can see how that would work. I wouldn't want to wave an iPad around like a Wii controller though.

The iDevices are already very popular gaming devices as it is. It would probably cannibalise sales, if it even sold at all.

Not going to happen. Too late to get in the market (err, get in the market again). They already have the iOS devices which are getting more and more into gaming. If they go any farther it will just be the Apple TV with an App Store plus the possibility of some iPad / iPod touch / iPhone integration.

True game consoles are expensive ventures where manufacturers lose money on hardware to sell software. If you ever think Apple will willingly take a loss on hardware, you're sorely mistaken.
