Does anyone understand what goes into album section in photos?

I have family sharing and iPhotos connected to my iCloud. With the iOS 8, I'm confused where some of the photos are coming from.

I see many "events' in album tab that I don't have in my phone. Do anyone know if it's from other iDevices or does it upload photos from iPhoto?

I have synched my phone with my MBP but specified only a set number of photos from MBP to be synched, and those are not one of them.

The Events are from iPhoto sync. Photos from other family members will be in the Shared tab under Family if they choose to share anything to it. It isn't automatic. Might want to check your MBP settings again.
