Hi everyone,
I am getting into printing my printers on a large format printer (at the local printers) and the first ones didn't quite go to plan. I have since re-calibrated my MBP screen with X-Rite i1 display and bought the 'New Complete Guide to Digital Printing' book by Rob Sheppard and that taught me a little more. The book and Scott Kelby say to print and not to bother with soft proofing as it doesn't work (actually only Scott Kelby says it doesn't work). I was kind of hoping that while I know it won't be perfect, it might just give me one more check before sending my next print off to the printers. I have seen one print shop offer up their .icc profiles so you can soft proof at home before sending.
Have you had good experiences with soft proofing?
