does apogee duet work as an external sound card?

I blew my sound card on my Mac G5 tower.

I just bought apogee duet....yet it hasnt come yet.

Curious.

Does the duet work as an external sound card?

Thats a pricey thing to buy if you are not sure what it is!?
But yes, its an external audio interface (Rather than a sound 'card', which implies an internal pci type card etc).
The Duet is very easy to use and great quality

I agree with Luap on why you would purchase such an expensive thing without knowing what it does. Anyway it works as a "sound card"... because that's what it is.
