NewEgg had a good deal on some Crucial RAM, so I finally picked some up to upgrade the significant other's Mac Mini to 3GB.

However, before I go through the hassle of opening the case and doing it myself, I was considering bringing it into an Apple store and letting them do it.

But I was wondering--do they charge for this service, or is it complimentary?

Mind you, the Applecare on the computer ended last month.

If they charge more than $20 I'm just gonna go ahead and do it myself.

no 3rd party

I wanted to have memory that I bought from Data Memory Systems installed in my iMac and when I went in for an appointment I was told that they will only install Apple purchased Ram, they will not install 3rd party ram. Told me to go to an Authorized Repair Centre or read the install guides....
