Does Apple create the iPhone apps on the iTunes store?

Let me start off by saying that I know the answer but after reading reviews on the app store I'm shocked at how many people don't. I just wanted to throw it out there and see what people think.

From what I know, they don't. Apple does, however, make a few applications such as Remote or Texas Hold'em. You can usually find out who makes the application somewhere in the description or above the application's title.

The App Store is 'third-party'.
