Does Apple know when I get my sim replaced?

So I was having tons of network issues, so knowing it was probably an AT&T thing I went to a store and had my sim replaced. The problems didn't really change much. If I call Apple (busy schedule so its easier than Genius Bar) to have my phone replaced, will they know I already tried a new sim? A friend of mine had network problems and instead of replacing the phone they sent him to AT&T. Will they know I changed sims or just trust me that I did it?

No, the SIM card is strictly a carrier thing, apple would know, nor would they care.

They won't know but you can tell them you had the sim replaced and still having the same issue.

You could always, you know, tell them that you've switched it....but I doubt they'd care either way.
