Hi,

Just wanted to ask if Apple does service recovery these days when they have wasted your time ?

Back in the day I had an incident where I needed a replacement install CD for a macbook pro in order to sell it and they sent me the wrong one and I had to go to a relatively far away depot to collect. For my troubles I got a Airport Express to say sorry for the hassle.

Fast forward to this week and in the space of a week I've had 2 bad experiences Apple related.

1) A pickup for my wife's now old iPhone SE 2020 took 2 separate repair jobs + multiple phone calls to both Apple and the local courier for the pickup to finally happen - long story short the pickup data hadn't reached the courier but the courrier could not say why.

2) Tried to order a battery replacement for my Powerbeats Pro 1 (right bud completely dead) but they would only sell me the full replacement for 1 bud only not the less expensive battery service in spite of me going to the local Apple authorised service provider. eg time wasted on multiple phone calls + trip in to town to have time wasted...again...

So basically a load of time lost on phone calls etc based on problems not my fault and bad info.

Vented my spleen at someone but all I got was "we'll pass the message on to the relevant department and we're sorry".

So I shouldn't expect any service recovery in this day and age ?

Why do you think Apple employees have sales metrics?
Aside from a pat answer of 'don't they all (businesses I mean)', my own personal experiences plus what I periodically read here and there.

Things seemed to change (in my experience) around 2014, the year Angela Ahrendts was hired to oversee the Apple stores. If you want a specific reference though, here is one to start with: https://www.businessinsider.com/app...2#its-like-working-at-a-used-car-dealership-1

A subscription site? Really?
Really. It showed for me when I was doing a Google search.

However, I get the feeling you won't be convinced, even if I were able to provide an internal Apple document proving my point (if such a thing even exists).

So, I'm going to take my opinion and walk away because you want proof I don't have. We will have to agree to disagree I'm afraid.

Apple has tightened up compared to years ago. Guess they got tired of being taken advantage of. Still one of the best companies you can deal with. They will never be able to make everyone happy.
