I pre-ordered the MBA M4 on Tuesday. I paid for it via Apple Pay via the Apple Cash in my account (it was set as the default payment method). I just happened to check my Apple Cash balance this morning and noticed that the balance had decreased by about $209. I was super confused because I haven't bought anything else, so where did the money go? I reviewed my Apple Pay transactions and saw that $209 had been pulled from "Apple Store." Do they typically withdraw a partial payment before the item ships or something? I was expecting to get charged the entire amount all at once, so it just seems weird to me.

I’ve never had them take a partial payment, but then I’ve never used Apple Cash to pay. I always used a debit or credit card. Did you buy AppleCare or something with the MacBook? Maybe that’s the charge for AppleCare?

I would message Apple support if you have an iPhone or call them on a regular phone.

Ah, I just checked my receipt. I did purchase Apple Care and it was $209, which is the exact amount they pulled already. It's weird that they charged me just for that.

Normally they charge your card when the item ships. Maybe the Apple Care is on a different system
