I know of someone with a 2008 white macbook with the cracked edge areas. Do they still have the repair program for this?

I got my 07 macbook fixed about a year ago and the store worker said "Good thing you brought it in now, we're about to stop doing these repairs" so you may be SOL... not only did they replace bottom case, but also the top case and keyboard which were not broken. There had always been something rattling inside too, but they took that out as well!

It doesn't hurt to ask though. Good luck!

They still do. The service extends legibility for replacements up to 5 years from the original purchase date. So, it depends on the MacBook if you're still in the green zone.

2007 MacBooks are slowly getting 'vintage'.

Yes they do, it's 5 years from when you bought it. I just had my Macbook case completely refurbished and I bought it October 2007.

I went in to have just the internal plastic replaced, which is in the repair program, and ended up getting the whole outer casing replaced for no charge. Must have just got lucky!
