Hi All

I seem to remember that Apple no longer allows Java 7 after Yosemite? I would like to find some documentation to this effect, which I can not find anywhere. Could someone point me in the right direction? I am working with a technical support group that insists Java 7 works fine for them on El Capitan. Of course I have tried to instal it on several machines, which did not work.

Thanks

Apple never supported Java 7. Oracle provided Java 7 for the Macintosh, which they stopped supporting last year. Since that was was before El Capitan, it's not officially supported.

Perhaps your group installed it first under Yosemite and then upgraded to El Capitan?

Apple provides a Java 6 implementation. It has been deprecated for some time, but I believe you can still get it for El Capitan for the moment. I wouldn't expect that to be around much longer.
