I think that using F1 and adjusting brightness to the lowest level, backlight turns off completely.Am I right? Thanks in advance...

If you turn down the brightness all the way, then the backlight turns off. You can verify this by checking the glowing apple, if the backlight is turned off then the apple will be dark.

The backlight turns off but if you look close enough an image is still being produced.

The pixels of the display are still active, but the backlight that illuminates the screen is deactivated. Try shining a powerful flashlight on the apple logo while the backlight is turned off.
