I am getting mixed replies/answers.

Apple.com says yes, Best Buy Store Manager on email says no, and Best Buy website says yes. Weird.

Anyone ever got their Best Buy to replace their Apple Watch battery before?

Yes I would go to the Apple Store but it is 200 miles away from me.

I agree with you, the Best Buy webpage states that they are an Apple Authorized Service Provider and if you used the appointment scheduler and they show up on the map as an authorized provider (which they should but just to confirm) I would complain and I am not one to usually do that, but in your case where an Apple Store is 200 miles away you don't have many options.

The only other thing I can think of is going through Apple and have them send a box to you to put your device in and ship it, if you do go this route I would let the customer service person know that the Best Buy is claiming that they do not. I don't know the full process to become an Authorized Service Provider, but I know Apple is very picky on the businesses that meet the requirements for it because issues like that make Apple look bad even though it is a Best Buy in particular.

Neither Apple nor Apple Authorized Service Provides will replace Apple Watch batteries. Apple Watch batteries are not replaceable and instead Apple will replace the entire watch face. Its possible your local Best Buy does not stock replacement Apple Watches in which this is why they are unable to "replace" the battery.

Your best best is to set up a repair with Apple. If its covered under AppleCare+ they will send you an express replacement and then you send your current one back. If you don't have AppleCare+ you will need to send in your watch first and then they will send you a replacement.

So let me get this straight Apple by mail or in store replaces your Apple Watch Series 2 or above with another but used/refurbished Apple Watch with the same model or maybe even one above for $79 ?

Or no ?

Correct, Apple will replace the device with a refurbished watch, exact same model. They have the same procedure with iPads that have battery issues.

It is a good deal but battery must be under 80%.

Do it through Apple as I would never trust a geek to open my watch and replace the battery and expect it to still be water resistant. I would not le them touch my iPhone either.

That sucks that it must be under 80%.

I bet it cost a lot more if it is 80%+

Some who track their Apple Watch battery say the the battery degradation “slows down” as it closes in on 80%🙄

I have a series 5 ceramic Watch with battery health of 78%. Apple Support is useless. I no longer have coverage and I don’t want to take it to Best Buy to have the battery replaced. Does anyone know how to contact Apple regarding this? Thanks.

Contact Apple and set up a battery replacement. It should be $99.

‘contact Apple per the above post. Best Buy does not replace Apple Watch batteries. I would not trust them anyway. Apple will send you back a like new watch with a new battery for $99. A good deal.
