I have had fun with this plugin via firefox on my work pc.
I am trying to locate the same for camino. Does it exist?

I don't know this plug-in specific.
But all I can say is that Camino support all the plug-ins that Firefox, Safari, etc. does. Just look at QuickTime, Flash player, Java, etc... ;)

What solaris means is that plug-ins are not browser-specific (for the most part). Plug-ins are stored in a common location. All browsers have equal access.

thanks for the responses.
i will try again tonight.
the firefox videodownloader plug-in program would not install on my mac where i only have safari and camino.
i assumed it was a version issue. i will test the problem more completly.

are these plug-ins os specific?
i have installed firefox videodownloader on 2 pcs.
Firefox VideoDownloader

my mac however doesnt know what to do with the file 'videodonloader-1.0-fx.xpi.

i have tried using stuffit and get an .rdf file that my mac doesnt know what to do with.

am i missing something obvious?

Oh, okay, That's not a browser plugin, it's a Firefox extension. That's the case for anything with an .xpi suffix. (XPI stands for "cross-platform installer", where "cross-platform" means "Firefox only" :p )

thanks.

seems like firefox pulled a microsoft with that term. or maybe pulled a henry ford 'it is available in any color you want as long as you want black.'

Hey I've used that program on Firefox, yeah I just have to keep installing it everytime I quit Firefox - it keeps dropping that program out.

Ok so on Mac that program does work for Firefox 1.5 - it does not work for Bon Echo or Firefox 2.0.

You just have to install it, restart Firefox and make sure you don't quit firefox (the RAM hog) anyways, hope that helps.

hmm. i was trying to stick with safari and camino as my transition to my first mac continues.

i am confused about camino. is it its own independent browser or is it a close mirror to firefox?

i think there is something called caminotools or something that has alot of plugins. try searching for that. i use shiira and would never go back to anything else

i tried pimpmycamino with no luck.
i will continue to search though.
does shiira have a videodownloader extension?
