Does Carrier IQ issue affect iPhones too?

iOS does have CarrierIQ installed on it. Been there since iOS 1.0. I haven't found any references to it in iOS 5 yet.

Well so much for this being an Android/Blackberry only thing. Looks like Apple might be using it too. Too early to jump to conclusions though.

For versions 4.0 and up, Intell on MacRumors' forums has found similar references to the http://collector.sky.carrieriq.com location within /usr/bin/awd_ice2, although we have not independently verified that yet. Again, no clear word on just what is or is not being tracked or collected.

It's not looking to me like it's anything close to what I understand the Android version to be, but I'm still looking.

and

Still not finding any key logging, but carrier, phone number, and location (only with Location Services enabled) do appear to be used.

I was the one that found some of the early references. I first discovered them on November 25. In fact, some of my posts in another thread predate chpwn's tweets.

HTC Sense is full of it, I was checking it all out in the files. Even custom ROM developers that deliberately tried couldn't remove everything.
