In anticipation of the new MBP being shipped by UPS from China, does changing the delivery to a UPS Access point delay delivery? I don't think there'll be an option for waiving the signature.

Ha! I had the same fear. Home delivery isn’t great for a lot of reasons. I need to be home for a 5 hour window and if I am 20 seconds late answering the door I have to go pick it up anyways??

I sent mine to a UPS Store for pickup and it cost me $6. Really frustrating to have to pay to receive my package, but they kinda have me over a barrel. I feel like you used to be able to request a hold for pickup at the distribution centers but I guess there is no money to be made there.

Anyways, I don’t think UPS is doing any sort of final scheduling based on the delivery address. If anything I would think routes going to more commercial addresses would likely happen earlier in the day. Either way, I requested the pickup change while my delivery date was in limbo, and I had the same fear that I was banishing my delivery to the UPS shadow realm. Ultimately, my delivery is scheduled for end of day on the 2nd, and I was in Nov. 5-10 window when I placed the order. I briefly had a Nov. 1 delivery while the parcel was still waiting in Shanghai, so either I lost one day or gained three! Probably best not to think about it…

The only time you'll see a delay is if you change to an access point at the last minute. Otherwise, it usually gets delivered quicker to access points. Not by days though, but by hours.
