Does DIY SSD Install Void Warranty?

Sorry if this has been addressed before. Just need a quick answer so I can complete my purchase.

1. Does it void warranty or nullify Applecare by installing an SSD yourself?

2. What is the best, fastest, and best value SSD you can purchase and from where?

3. Are there any step-by-step directions illustrating how to change a MBP HD to SSD?

1. No. You can install any HDD or SSD that you like.

2. Probably one of the Sandforce-based OCZ SSDs, but as I don't have any SSD personally I'm not certain.

3. Google is quite useful for that sort of thing.

1. SSD is a normal HD from outside and Apple considers HD as user-serviceable part thus it does not void your warranty. The part you install, however, is not covered by AppleCare

2. Hard to say because you didn't tell us what capacity do you want. OCZ Vertex 2 120GB is a good deal and it's one of the fastest ones on the market
