want this for blu ray player and xbox series X-- dont really need for internal apps since dont use any on the tv- and didnt realize this was an option until I stumbled across it last night while researching some sounders (luckily!)

dont feel like investing in a sound bar if I dont need to (but if I do, think I might get a Bose 600 possibly)

have a 65" LG OLED C1, 2021 ATV 4k Gen2, and HomePods Gen1.

Can anyone share their experiences? I think im on a lower version iOS 16 like 16.1 equivalent of tvOS

Works well for me.

Since my Denon receiver went bang, I use a HomePod (v1) stereo pair for all TV watching in my living room, and I also have a second stereo pair to the rear which I'll use as "additional speakers" for (very) pseudo surround sound when watching a movie that justifies the minimal effort of switching that feature on.

Clearly this isn't as good as a full receiver-based set-up, but it's good enough that I'm not going to bother buying a new receiver and may well sell my B&W floor-standers and KEF eggs.

I also have a pair of HomePod mini's running as the only audio output for a TV in the beforrom.

Been working fine for me pretty much since it was introduced. Sometimes it gets a bits of interference (audio clock speed type farts) when I skip around time slips on my PVR, but a short pause usually fixes that. Perfect with straight up Apple TV on original HomePods.

Works well for me. I have 3rd gen Apple TV 4K with a stereo pair of OG HomePods as audio output. I use the HomePods as the audio output for my X box series S and blu ray player via eARC.

Yep works well for me. I use it with Freeview and then my consoles (Switch, Wii U, PS2, Retropie etc). Initially I had some sound interference on some inputs but after a couple of updates they went away.

Does anyone know if wireless audio sync on Apple TV affects the ARC/eARC?
