Does ECG work outside supported countries?

Hi,
I want to buy the 5th gen of apple watch but ECG isn't supported in Saudi Arabia. What if I bought it from the US will it work? Knowing that I will use it in Saudi with my Saudi model iPhone? who can help me???

Per previous MR threads, currently the Watch must be from (serial number) a supported country and paired in a supported country. Reportedly, if you unpair the Watch and re-pair it in an unsupported country, the ECG function will not be restored.
