I have an original iPhone upgraded with the latest software and now the old-fashioned GPS can't find where I am. I press the button in the Maps application and it starts spinning and doesn't stop.

Anyone else got this problem or, better still, a fix?

Or, not uncommon this, am I being dim.

Do you mean the google maps navigation by cell tower? the original iphone has no gps.

The location feature on the original iPhone works for me since the 2.0 update. Try a restore if yours doesn't?

The quasi-GPS on my original iPhone has changed significantly since the 2.0 updates. A lot of the time it simply fails to find my location, however (just like Steve Jobs once said) when it does work, it works brilliantly. Yesterday in Camberley it was amazing, as i was moving in the car it updated my location every few seconds- made finding the place i was going to a breeze.

weird. i've found that Maps.app works a lot better now that I've upgraded to 2.0. It even acts like a little pseudo-GPS and follows me as I drive.
