Good day mates !

recently, just after 7 months I bought my 15 macbook pro , its hard drive stops working and works so slowly and most of the time it stops working. I took it to genius bar and they replaced it. But the booting up speed WAS faster than what is now.Is there any problem ?

My first hard drive was : Toshiba MK5055GSXF
New Hard drive is : Hitachi HTS545050B9SA02

Thanks :)

You know google is your friend.

they're both 500GB @ 5400RPM with SATA II, neither state the cache but im willing to bet they're both 8MB Cache drives too.

So neither one is faster than the other in technical terms.

Thanks for ur answer i m pretty sure about Toshiba it is 8 Mb and u r right , but the point is after replacement my macbook pro takes on average 1.5 min to boot up !

Try opening System Preferences and under Startup Disk select your HDD then click restart. If that doesn't help try an firmware reset.
