Hey :)
I've just got my new imac and have some questions

- If i'm donwloading something from app store or any other place, Does iMac keep downloading while it is in sleep mode?
- Should I keep it plugged into power while it is in sleep mode?
- What prevents it from getting in sleep mode? I once kept iTunes playing and came back after 30 minutes and it didn't enter the sleep mode !

Thank you in advance

In sleep mode, it does not download anything. You should keep it plugged in when in sleep mode. Media playback typically stops sleep mode among other things.

The OP is referencing an iMac, so it's always plugged in. If unplugged in sleep mode it shuts off...

I am aware that the OP's machine is an iMac, hence it being in the iMac subforum. I told the OP that because people who may be news to Macs or computers in general, may not know that computers without a battery need to be connected to the mains to stay in sleep mode. If the OP wants to be able to unplug his iMac while it is in sleep mode, he can do so once the iMac has been reconfigured to sleep and hibernate or just hibernate.
