Does iMovie '11 replace iMovie '09?

I started off with iMovie HD '06 and then upgraded to '09 .. but when I installed '09 it didn't replace iMovie '06 .. it put it in a separate folder for me.

Will '11 do the same?

I suppose I can simply just copy iMovie and iPhoto '09 to an external HDD to be safe but just curious ..

It just updates it. When you finish the install you use the same icon and all of your events and projects are still there.

It puts it into the Previous Versions folder.
