Once Apple stops signing a firmware does the jailbreaking community of developers slow down on innovations as there are less new iDevices able to accept and use them?

It would be interesting to have had a chart as to how active the community is while jailbreaking is fresh and active VS after the proverbial window is closed.

Also factor in that rapid innovation may also require being able to restore. While, with proper precautions, it's, in most cases, possible to avoid the need for a full system restore, there may be cases when a JB dev ends up with a useless system needing a restore.

This may be one of the reasons for JB development slowing down without a available JB for current iOS versions.
