Hi,

Trying to figure out if the behaviour of IOS Mail is by design or a bug.

When I receive a new email via IOS Mail on my phone (16pro) and the phone is locked/inactive, I hear the chime from an email coming in, but see no preview on the screen. In contrast, when a IOS text comes in, I hear the chime + I see a preview on my locked/inactive screen.

I've looked everywhere to check settings, and all settings are set to show previews for new emails, but it's still not happening. My email ac settings are set to push. And I've watched virtually every video I can find to troubleshoot settings. Everything seems to be in order. The same issue is happening for my wife's phone (16proMax).

Are email previews supposed to show up on the Lock Screen like texts? Is this a difference in app behaviour? Maybe a bug?

Ty for any help and cheers! P

These are the only settings that I know of that can affect seeing Mail notifications on the lock screen:

If you keep a custom "Focus" type enabled, Check Settings>Focus to see if Mail is in the Allowed list.

Settings>Apps>Mail>Notifications

Allow Notifications: ON
Lock Screen: Checked
Show Previews: Always (Default)

Settings>Face ID & Passcode>ALLOW ACCESS WHEN LOCKED

Notification Center: ON
Maybe someone else can add to the list.

All confirmed on and correct. Ty though ...
