When the ipad 3 was out, many people complained about uneven color tint, where half the screen were yellow, other purple, etc...

Is the new iPad 4th gen free from those issues?

Unfortunately no. Just exchanged mine today as it had a yellow tint all down the right side. The replacement has a slightly yellower tint, but its even across the screen so I'm happier with it.

No issues with mine or a few others that I have seen with friends, family, etc.

No, it's not even. Mine has a dark spot on the far left that's noticable when scrolling white pages.
The left side of the screen is also slightly yellow, but it's only an issue when reading books or magazines.

At least my iPad 4 didn't have dust, dead pixels or hair underneath the screen like the iPad 3's I went through.

Mine is fine, as are the other 5 we ordered in here at work as a tablet pilot.

So whilst i'm sure there may be issues out there, thus far in my experience we're 6 for 6 being totally fine.

First 3 I got had uneven yellow tints mostly along one side or the other. The 4th is perfect - a warmer white than my iPad 3, but no yellow.

I briefly owned 3 iPad 3s, and all the screens were disasters and were returned.

I just got an iPad 4, and I got an evenly lit, evenly colored screen with no dust or dead pixels on the first try.

My 1st 4 had yellow on the left hand side. I got a genius swap and the new one is perfect.
