As long as you initiate the Facetime call without a 'normal' phone call then it won't cost you a penny. If you activate Facetime part way through a conversation, then obviously you have to pay the cost of the call prior to when you went on WiFi.
 
The answer is NO. You don't get charged for FaceTime use. It's WiFi to WiFi.

Interestingly, I've been looking at my bill (AT&T) and don't even see it as DATA to the numbers I have FaceTime conversations with. Has anyone else noticed this?

That's because its WiFi. Why would AT&T log any data connections for face time calls unless you are using their data network? (This is of course if you haven't jailbroken your iphone into letting you run face time on 3G).

Thanks! Makes perfect sense. Somehow I still thought the AT&T mothership would track the data, but what you are saying is far more logical.
