Hey guys

So I recently got a new M1 Macbook Pro 13 because my 2015 version died on me. The charger that comes with the laptop has the removable plug right? So I was wondering if I can use the plug cable from my 2015 version and use it with the M1 adapter that has the USB C cable in it. Because the 2015 one was longer than the one that came with the M1, that has no cable but just the plug on the adapter. Could it cause harm or should I not mind it at all?

If you are asking about the USB-C charging cord of your 2015, then you can use it without issue. You will not get the quick charge since that is only available with the 96+W chargers and the MagSafe port.

The 2015 charging brick can be used in a pinch. I used a 27W Apple charger (I think it was an iPad Pro charging brick) and it even charged my new 14" MBP, albeit very slow.

No I mean the plug that goes into the electricity socket. I took the one from my 2015 charging brick and used it for the M1 charging brick (the one that comes with the USB C cable). Would that have an effect?

No.

I'm still using the one that came with my 2009 17" MBP. I swap it between all sorts of apple devices without issue.

I always use the longer extension cord that Apple sells.

Use it and enjoy the added length.
