8 gigs of ram vs 12 for the 17 series.

Does it make sense to get one? The 14 pro has 6 and it's already kinda slowing down with ios26.

Wondering how 8 gigs will hold up.

I have bad hearing and the airpod hearing feature is a lifesaver when I don't have my hearing aids around.

So that's the main reason I'm considering going back to ios and staying there this time, my hearing.

I prefer the 16 pro max over the air due to the cheaper price and bigger size but the memory is what I'm worrying over.

I know ios is more of a app phone than a Internet phone in a sense like Android so going back means sticking to apps instead of Mozilla and I lock origin for just browsing casually all day.

The 12 gigs is great and I know those 4 gigs are gonna make a huge difference 2 years from now.

Go for it. It's a great phone that will deal with your needs. I bought one 2 months ago. I always stay a year behind the latest phones. I get great phones for great prices.
Same here. Great value for the money and you won’t notice the increase in RAM and improved CPU in normal day to day use anyway. That’s mostly for spec-geeks and gamers as far as I can understand…

I'll get the 16 pro max, the hearing is essential and the airpod pros really help when my hearing aids aren't around.

I'm think 16 plus, might be the cheapest repair if something happens.

Don't know how important pro motion is honestly if I want to be online less.

Might be the best deal especially with the lightweight.

The 16 Pro Max is still an excellent device with great battery life and performance. I think the 8GB RAM should be for some years to come.
If the 17 Pro Max is out of reach price wise (even used) then I see no issue getting a 16 PM.

From a cost vs repairability point, is the 16 plus the best bet?
I don't know either way about repairability but the 16 Plus would be much nicer to carry around and hold than the Pro Max. I don't notice really any difference with Pro Motion, some people claim to see a difference but I don't.

So it's mostly the lack of always on display and promotion that's the difference between the pro and plus? The build quality is also a bit worse.

The Pro Max has the telephoto lens that the 16 Plus doesn't have. The 16 Plus is so much lighter though.
