iPod touch Does it matter if my iPod touch is Mac or Windows formatted?

I have a mac formatted iPod touch and tomorrow I am going to jailbreak it with iJailbreak. I want the iPhone apps (only notes and Mail) could I use the windows youtube tutorial (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YciPeAPPrmE) to put the iPhone apps and the calander add button on even though my iPod is mac formatted? Or does it matter?
