Does it matter if you preorder with either ATT's site or Apples?

I'm upgrading from a 3G and i'm eligible. I'd rather order through the apple site for better benifits (free shipping.. plus ATT tends to screw people left and right lately..) and have it shipped to my house.. I've never done a preorder so... will the apple site have my AT&T info?

So many threads on ATT vs Apple. I have a question. I did not pre-order last time. I have a 3G and have been eligible for upgrade since June 1. If I pre-order online with ATT do I get the option of either having shipped to my home or shipped to local store ? Thanks in advance.
