I wonder if Monolingual is compatible to work with OS X Lion, without damaging it or mess it up.

I'm asking that because I tried a few days ago using Monolingual on my MacBook Pro running OS X Lion.
After a day or two I had to replace my hard drive to a new one.
I'm not sure if Monolingual is the one who blame, maybe something else
cause it, but I don't want to take the risk.

It's just a coincidence, you can mess up a system by deleting too much with Monolingual, but it'll never physically kill a drive.

I see.

But still, is it safe to use it under Lion? Don't want to experience future problems.

I used it too. No negative effects for me too.
But I am not sure if it works properly because disk size remained the same.

I am certain that removing language support packages done by TinkerTool System http://www.bresink.com/osx/TinkerToolSys2.html is fully Lion compatible.

FWIW, a few years ago I had great/disastrous problems with Monolingual, and so I switched to TTS, and have never had a problem since.

Of course, Monolingual has had many improvements in the interim, so I can but (strongly) suggest having a verified backup before venturing forth.
