Does iTunes no longer get song lyrics?

I recently got a new iPhone and decided to set it up on a new (Windows XP) computer.

It was running before on a different XP computer FWIW.

Before it used to automatically download the lyrics and place a text file into the same dir as the MP3 and sync it to my iPhone automatically.

This is no longer the case now however.

Did iTunes 8.1.1.10 disable this feature for some reason?

Is there a way to turn it on?

iTunes itself has never, ever done this - the most it has done is get missing album artwork for albums available in the iTunes Store. You must have had some sort of third party plugin installed, which was disabled by the latest iTunes update. You'll have to search for a new plugin for it to fetch lyrics automatically, because there's nothing built into iTunes for it.

That's odd.

I wonder how the lyrics were being populated then?

I never installed a app specifically to do this.

Are there any popular media player apps that would automatically do this without my knowledge that anyone could think of?

I have TVersity and Playon! both installed on that same computer that it was doing this on, I wonder if either of those would do automatic lyrics...
