just wondering how it runs on a mac cause it seems to run heavy on my dual core pc laptop like 30-40% processes and runs as much as when i watch a hd 720p movie. does it run alot better on a mac

i do have 2gb ram on the pc

From my experience it does seem to be quite a bit lighter on the mac side. Just apple trying to make PC users suffer just a little bit more.

For me it averages 2-3% usage on a 2.66ghz core. This is playing music with sound enhancer running as well. When i enable visualizers it goes to around 40%.

Yep, iTunes is much lighter on the Mac. The QuickTime framework on which it depends is sort of built into OSX, whereas in Windows the framework sits on top of the OS as an application, with iTunes sitting on top of that. As a result iTunes has a much larger resources footprint on Windows.

I can truthfully say that yes, iTunes runs much better on a Mac.

Earlier today, I tried to open iTunes for the first time in over a year on my 2.4 GHz PC, and it took well over 3 minutes.(And even then it run slower then anything I've ever seen)

itunes used to run terribly on my old Vista machine... dont think i will ever touch that piece of dirt again..

but on my MBP it runs smoothly.. its bound to run well, its native to mac what do you expect?

not being sarcastic as this may appear but how does safari run on windows (sheer curiosity)?
