Okay, no bashing here. But I have a few Bon Jovi albums in my library and non of them are from the iTunes Store. The other day they sent me an email saying they have a new single.

If they do this for all my artists in my library, that would be sweet because then I'd never be left out.

Or do they just do this for the stuff you purchased from the store? Hope I don't sound too confusing.

I have My Alerts turned on in iTunes or whatever it's called if that helps.

My Alerts is your answer. It's based off your purchases.

Does it do the same from ALL non iTunes purchases? It sent me alerts based on CD's I ripped too.

You can also enable it for artists that you didn't purchase from. At some point you might have given it enough information to send you those emails for things you never purchased. As far as I know - and considering that I don't get emails like yours and have Genius turned on - it doesn't utilize your iTunes library.
