As per title, please shed some light as I have tried everything in my house to try to get it work, my xbox my chrome cast my macbook....

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help, just tell me yes or no will also do!

*I know the apple support page doesn't mention iMac 2013 supports TDM but you know how apple sometimes hide stuff in their devices...:D

As described you need a Thunderbolt device to use TDM,in other words you can only connect another Thunderbolt equipped Mac. Please read Apple's http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3924
 
I drilled around the internet...

seems like as long as there is no HDMI to Thunderbolt, the is no way in the world to achieve what i wanted to..

there will never be HDMI to Thunderbolt because thats not how Thunderbolt works.
