People are divided on the glossy/non-glossy screen issue, but everyone seems to like the Air and MBP LED backlit screens. Or, am I wrong about that?

Will LED screens resolve this issue? Is it likely LED screens will eventually be the only option, even on the ACDs?

Glossiness is a coating on top of the screen; it has nothing to do with how the screen is internally backlit.

The LED backlight doesn't solve any of the problems that a glossy screen presents. You still get very annoying glare on the glossy screen if you are outside with or without the LED backlight.

I'd imagine so , they consume less power then their CCFL counterparts, illuminate instantaneously (no warm up) and are generally brighter. The only issue is that it's harder to achieve good uniformity as the individual LEDs age at different rates affecting the overall white balance.
