IMO there should be a ilife and leopard pack together for 20 or 30 dollar reduction.

new Macs come with the install discs for iLife '08 as well though, right? I would assume yes, since it's pre-loaded, but I just want to make sure (haven't bought my Mac yet, so I don't have a box I can look in myself :)).

Where are they getting 9GB then? iLife 08 takes only 3 GB. Does anybody know what the latest beta took up in space with a max install?

It comes as a package on the OS X install disk that came with the computer.

and iLife 07 ? because the imac i bought doesn't have an install disc of ilife, but it is on the computer?

The only computers that come with both iLife 07 and iLife 08 are ones that were manufactured right around the time of iLife 08's release -- they have an extra "drop in" disc that just has iLife 08, typically, and then they have iLife 07 on the system install/restore DVDs.

Right now, they come with just Tiger and iLife 08 (plus the discount). When Leopard is released, they will come with Leopard + iLife 08.

Too bad it doesn't come with iLife '08. I thought the "full package" Steve was talking about would be OS X and iLife.

So, what did he mean by that?

It means the full functunality of Leopard. Unlike Vista where there are varying versions, and different functionality. Packaging iLife with Leopard would be like microsoft giving you Office suite when you bought an OS.

actually, there were no computers that were shipped with ilife 07 in any form, because there was no ilife 07. substitute 06 in place of 07, and mrkrishnan's post is perfect.

i also wasn't sure of the ilife '07

I'm sure Amazon would be willing to do that. You should suggest it to them.

i'm not sure about this, but i think apple is the only only one who can give you a reasonable reduction with getting as a company a little bit profit.
At wich price would Amazon Buy Leopard versions?

Them showing iLife 08 as if you upgrade to leopard is what your gonna get in this picture without any hardware showing I think is kind of a misrepresentation. Where is the iDvd and iWeb icons? I could understand if they are superimposing onto a computer screen of new hardware, but they are advertising a new OS.

Considering all computers ship with a version of iLife, I think it's perfectly fair.
